..WOOD..
“Jaakool Che” (wonderful wood) is what people from south of mexico call the forest where Catalox comes from.

Catalox (swartzia cubensis) is a Mexican hard wood that is noble to our skin and beautiful to our eyes. It is often called mexican ebony because it is a sustainable alternative to it. It generally has a dark brown to purplish heartwood. And it can also have pieces of white. After being oiled and through natural use, catalox will tend to turn to a dark brow to black.

Our wood comes from the Noh Bec wood yard which is certified by the rainforest alliance’s smartwood program www.smartwood.org

All of our wood plugs are made of Catalox, unless specified. If you are interested in another wood, please contact me directly or go to our custom jewelry section where other woods might be being used too.
